A mathematical forms of ? the well known in Polish mining industry ? Comprehensive Method of Rockburst State of Hazard Evaluation (CMRHE) are presented and discussed. The CMRHE is composed of four ?particular methods? i.e. mining seismology, seismoacoustics, drilling and, partly subjective, ?expert method of hazard evaluation?. Despite its popularity, CMRHE is not well defined in the mathematical sense. It appears, that all the components of the method can be cast into the probabilistic context and estimated according to strict mathematical rules, assuring logical consistency without interfering into physical and practical problems. Presented mathematical form of CMRHE is equally simple and understandable as the original, known version of the method. The final results of hazard evaluation can be analogously expressed as the discrete ?states of hazard?.
