A shock with magnitude M = 5.2 took place on December 22, 1974 at Shenwo Reservoir and some smaller earthquakes caused by impoundment also took place near other reservoirs. Numerous earthquakes associated with mining activity occurred in some coal mines. 56 collapse earthquakes with magnitude of M > 1.8 occurred at Binggou coal mine in Jianchang county. An analysis of the cause and some features of these three categories of the induced earthquakes are described in this paper. publisher: Birkhäuser Basel contributor: Talebi, Shahriar date: 1997 type: Book Section type: PeerReviewed identifier: Zhong, Yi Zhang and Gao, Changbo and Yun, Bai (1997) Induced Seismicity in Liaoning Province, China.
