Seismicity in granitic terranes is mainly associated with pore pressure diffusion whereas in karst terranes the chemical effect of water appears to play a major role in triggering RIS. In view of the characteristic features of RIS in China, we can expect moderate earthquakes to be induced by the construction of the Three Gorges Project on the Yangtze River. date: 1998-11 date_type: published publication: Pure and Applied Geophysics volume: 153 number: 1 publisher: Springer Verlag pagerange: 133-149 id_number: doi:10.1007/s000240050188 refereed: TRUE issn: 0033-4553 official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s000240050188 access_IS-EPOS: limited owner: Publisher citation: Chen, Linyue and Talwani, Pradeep (1998) Reservoir-induced Seismicity in China.
