"This is a preliminary draft of the report on the analysis of the data collected in the \nmine seismicity survey. One hundred and seven case histories from 73 \nunderground, mechanised, hardrock mines has been compiled and analysed in this \nreport. \n \nThis report is written for an audience that may have limited exposure to the concepts \nand issues related to mine seismicity and rockbursting. Chapters 1, 2, 3 and 4 of this \nreport are introductory to the topic of mining-induced seismicity and rockbursting. \nReaders familiar with mine seismicity will find the first four chapters quite basic and \nmay elect to skim over these sections. These introductory chapters discuss the \noverall context of the report, and generalities related to mine seismicity, seismic \nhazard and rockburst damage. \n \nChapter 5 discusses the overall survey results for the two parameters developed in \nthe survey, the Seismic Hazard Scale (SHS) and Rockburst Damage Scale (RDS) \n \nChapters 6 and 7 summarise minesite experience on the consequences of mine \nseismicity and the success that mines have had in managing mine seismicity and \nrockbursting. \n \nChapter 8 compares reported mine seismicity and rockbursting to geomechanical \nparameters (rock strength, stress, rockmass quality, etc), mine design influences and \nthe role of geology and mine faults. \n \nChapter 9 discusses some of the results of the survey and data analysis. \n \nChapter 10 is a summary of the report, re-iterating the key findings of the survey."^^ .
