Abstract
The maximum change of Coulomb failure stress in MPa in the direction of maximum shear stress. Displayed are two planes that intersect at the hypocenter of the seismic event. Event location of the mainshock (MW 1.9) is indicated by the white star. Dykes are the grey compounds, and the gold reef is indicated by the yellow dipping plane. Y-axis points towards north. The positive changes of the Coulomb failure stress indicate that the area around the hypocenter of the MW 1.9 mainshock was brought closer to failure and that the event was most likely induced by the stress changes due to mining.
