We describe three types of induced seismicity observed in Liaoning Province, China: reservoir-induced seismicity, mine-induced seismicity and collapse earthquakes. A shock with magnitude M = 5.2 took place on December 22, 1974 at Shenwo Reservoir and some smaller earthquakes caused by impoundment also took place near other reservoirs. Numerous earthquakes associated with mining activity occurred in some coal mines. 56 collapse earthquakes with magnitude of M > 1.8 occurred at Binggou coal mine in Jianchang county. An analysis of the cause and some features of these three categories of the induced earthquakes are described in this paper.
